Yes, the Neocrats have one and all given up writing. Its a sorry sight to behold. Where are we? I for one have no excuse. I think that I have nothing to say. Writing a book seems to have destroyed my creativity. And today I ran 5.2 km in 30 minutes and this has had an unavoidable effect. The Neocrats are burnt out and I see that the readers are complaining. There was a comment that we should to focus on topicality and this gave me a moment of thought. You see, topicality is usually determined by the media and I think we often give too much credence to new agencies. They don’t really know what is going on! For instance, on the BBC Northern Ireland news last week the main story one evening was that the Northern Ireland football team was going to get a new manager! Big deal! There was a report on a newly discovered dumping ground for animal carcasses. The journalist said that the presence of weathered eroded skulls ’suggested’ that the dump had been in use for some time. I was unimpressed by his deductive reasoning. Further, on the national BBC News one frequently finds stories about irrelevant matters: team sports, celebrities, the fluctuation of consumerist trends, the success of British actors in an American film award ceremony. All of this is big deal at the same time that matters of true consequence are ignored. Even all this stuff about carbon is now fashionable but in reality so old hat that one yawns. I remember debate about deforestation in 1988! Hopefully on one or two occasions the Neocrats have been among the first to spot matters of consequence. Can I suggest that at this quiet time eager readers should trawl through the archives. There are hundreds of little posts and I think some of them are…what’s the word?
Here is a matter that I would like to see explored: transient lunar phenomena.
Now, where did those Neocrats go?

Exams *sigh* The ‘crat will come back the very next day (after June 11th).
