Can we/should we import the Neocrats into Facebook?

Sarmad, if you are not on Facebook then you don’t exist, unfortunately.
I’m not sure but after the revamp, where have all the writers gone? Sarmad has emerged to his, I am told, formerly prolific self. But what of the other stalwarts? There’s no harm in a facebook for neocrats and friends, a behind-the-scences, per se, but the aim should be for the blog to increase its topicality and readership.
Facebook is the best thing ever. I’ve wasted hours of my life on it. Though I wouldn’t call it a waste. It’s become my default networking site and has been a great way to get back in touch with people.
I do like Facebook for its getting back in touch. Plus I know what some of you guys look like now.
i have been consumed in a facebook void, hence my absence from neocrats. facebook is the web equivalent of cheap tv. easy, addictive and massively unfulfilling, whereas neocrats is the web equivalent of neocrats. Long live the Neocrats. I hereby announce, after Fukyama, the end of Facebook.
Mogogo, even though I see you on Facebook, you still have this shroud of mystery surrounding you, which is as it should be. Therefore, Sarmad should not be afraid to join, we will still see him as this other-worldly creature(or is that just me ?)
Music to my ears. We are back. Saleem, we beckon you.
I still see absolutely no value whatsoever in facebook. In fact, I am about to go online again and try and workout what people are getting excited about
Ok, I see what its all about. However, it seems to contradict my principle. I don’t want to beat my ego over your heads in this way. I don’t want to aggrandise my visage. I don’t want to show how many/few friends I have. And I’m too busy with my ego to aggrandise my ego.
Santo Subito !
Santo Subito !
Sarmad, we wouldn’t be feeling assulted by your ego. We would simply say hello and share the odd photograph, and see that you do, indeed, have red hair.
The thing is this. The reason Mogogo and I have dried up on the Neocrats is because our massive creative energies have gone into crafting two-line wall posts on Facebook, as well as the occasional great works, which are groups. We create groups to reflect and manifest ourselves. Writing? No. Writing is dead. Long live creating Facebook groups.
WRITING IS NOT DEAD.
The war is alive in me.
HELP.
Facebook, what a waste of time.
I am entrenched in my prejudice towards it.
Sarmad, i think your aversion to facebook is due to a reluctance to let all your friends see who you are all at once and reflects a deep seated malaise in your psyche.
