As the iPhone release approaches, I feel my strength crumbling. “I’ll wait for the second version,” I told myself. “It doesn’t have MS Office, it doesn’t have 3G.” But both of these are details; MS Office functionality can come via Google; Original Sin says that 3G is “sooo over-rated”. And now the release approaches, I look at the pretty pictures, and I feel my strength crumbling.

How about focussing on the real issues:
1. Forget 3G, it’s not even GSM.
2. Try running non-proprietary software on it, like watching a DivX you might not have paid full fare for on iTunes.
3. It doesn’t have any buttons. Good luck typing on that thing.
