I saw the Philip Glass opera Satyagraha in London two weeks ago, staged to stupendous effect by the company Improbable. This will not be possible for most of you. But you can listen to the music, and you should, it is the music of spiritual immensity striding across mountain ranges, with simple bounds, owning all.

speaking of MUSIC, where is Sarmad lately ? need I remind him that his name means “world of perpetuity” ?

  2. Sanisha says:

actually, I did not know this but according to Wikipedia: Sarmad derives from the Persian (Sar+Amad) word for eternal, was a Persian mystic, poet and saint in India during the 17th century.

but in the Seven Valleys, it mentions Sarmad as being “world of perpetuity”, anyway…

  3. nemoDreamer says:

i adore Philip Glass, and can only hope that this performance will be extended to New York…
We’re going to see Mr Kevin Spacey perform Moon of the Misbegotten here next saturday, and are super excited, for we found good seats! (not like seeing Placido Domingo in from the very highest balcony row and barely registering his facial expressions….)

  4. mogogo says:

Saw Spacey do Moon for the Misbegotten in London. I won’t spoil the play for you by telling you that it is about what all plays and art seem to be about - the fall. and that the lead actress is weak.

  5. Yoko Ono says:

Satyagraha opens at the Met on April 11, 2008.

I am thinking of buying tickets for me and my pet sheep Fluffy.

  6. Saleem says:

Who is this Yoko Ono of New York? I am in New York.

  7. Yoko Ono says:

i am a bit too old for you but do you want to get a cup of coffee, i mean, cawfee ?

[insert thick New Jersey accent here]

  8. Saleem says:

I guess that depends, are you really Yoko Ono?

  9. Yoko Ono says:

i have a confession to make : I am Yoko Ono, but not thee Yoko Ono.

  10. Mogogo says:

    thee or the?

  11. Yoko Ono says:

    knock knock

  12. Yoko Ono says:

…and now you are supposed to say :

    “who’s there ?”

  13. Saleem says:

    Who’s there?

  14. Sanisha says:

    Yoko

  15. Sanisha says:

oh shoot, this is what happens when you use multiple working stations. It was supposed to go like this…

    Yoko: Yoko
you were supposed to say: Yoko who ?
Yoko: there’s another Yoko ? Oh no!

  16. nemoDreamer says:

Marta and I went to see Moon of the Misbegotten, and loved it! We’re not that theater-jaded yet…
