Enough about Hoolooshbok. Hooray! Hoolooshbok is coming! What I note now is that there is a ‘debate’ about whether to give great apes human rights. Why is there a ‘debate’? Humans are sometimes so dumb! Let’s have some real content again and stop getting so excited about Hoolooshbok. Hooray! Hoolooshbok is coming!

    Dude. Relaaaax.

  2. Sanisha says:

I can’t really tell from this where you stand on the personhood issue, do you or don’t you think apes deserve the same rights?

If they do deserve human rights, then perhaps we need more humanhuman rights and if they don’t deserve human rights then why don’t they? What is the debate about…them or our actual rights ?

/i know we have discussed apes here, they are highly evolved creatures and so this is said with the greatest respect to them/

  3. Sarmad says:

I think they are as human as many humans. I also suspect that elephants and dolphins may have enough self-awareness to be counted. Perhaps what we mean is human is the ’self-aware’ animal.
