Loading ...A spoken word is composed of a sign and a sound. The sign signifies ideas, concepts, material meanings. It provokes meanings and interacts with other signs to create a train of coherent thoughts, which are transferred to the listener.
A sound, when expressed within the structure of music, carries a ‘myriad’ of meanings for each listener. Sounds have meanings for listeners and can provoke some of the deepest emotions.
When a listener understands a language they normally respond to the signs. When you don’t understand the language you hear only its music. Does this ignorance allow us to understand the other, myriad, hidden mysteries with new clarity?
I know some texts in my one language. They have a power. When I hear them in their original music, I either go further or somewhere else.
